Weekly progress bar with Monday as day 1 in week 9 and yearly progress bar as of day 56 in the year. |
So I start with the latest one that was implemented, i.e. the progress bars for week and year shown to the right. It was new in version 2.3.0 dated 2025-02-04.
Another favorite, especially around mid winter when the amount of sunshine is so little here in Norway, is the solar display. That helps keep track of when morning finally comes.
Next I would say the lunar display is one I often look at.

I find the display of the Islamic and Hebrew calendars fascinating also (3rd and 4th lines). They both agree to within a day or so, e.g. here 27. of the month in the Islamic and 28. in the Hebrew calendar. This is because they follow the moon, and here we are near the end of the month as the moon is waning and about to become invisible.

Sun (toggling with moon) and inner planets. Elevation and azimuth right now, % illumination, and astronomical magnitude (absolute illumination). |
Finally, as I like to look at the planets in my telescope, the displays of inner and outer planets come in handy.

The latest code for the clock is v2.3.0 (2025-02-04) and it can be found as open-source code on github. See the github wiki for a listing of all the faces.
My favorites are the local sun (shown in your post), the Roman numeral and the morse code screens. But really, I like them all! My overall favorite feature of the Multi Face GPS Clock is no internet is required. 73, AA7US
ReplyDeleteThat's suprising! The Roman and the Morse screens were fun to program, but are quite hard to read
DeleteBTW, I added the display of Julian, Islamic, and Hebrew calendars since you commented. The lunar calendars are fascinating also!
DeleteMy reason to build that great gadget is to monitor the NCDXF HF beacons in real time. That for, my favorite clock face is the NCDXF clock. Thanks a lot for all your work and time invested in that great project, Sverre. 73 es 55 de sTef - DM5TU
