My favorite faces for the Multi Face GPS Clock

Weekly progress bar with Monday as day 1
in week 9 and yearly progress bar
as of day 56 in the year.

Among the 49 different faces (or screens) now implemented on the Multi face GPS clock, it is hard to select favorites. It is easy to pick the latest one implemented, i.e. the progress bars for week and year shown to the right. It was new in version 2.3.0 dated 2025-02-04.

Local sunrise/set (line 2),
civil rise/set (-6 degrees relative to horizon)
and nautical (-12 degress)
Another favorite, especially around mid winter when the amount of sunshine is so little here in Norway, is the solar display. That helps keep track of when morning finally comes.

Lunar display showing elevation and
azimuth right now (line 2),
next rise time and its azimuth,
distance which is 92% relative to
maximum possible distance. The "(" denotes
the shape of the illumination
and the dashed arrow that it is about
to decrease, i.e. "waning crescent".
3% is the illumination.

Next I would say the lunar display is one I often look at.

Sun (toggling with moon) and inner planets.
Elevation and azimuth right now, % illumination,
and astronomical magnitude (absolute illumination).

Finally, as I like to look at the planets in my telescope, the displays of inner and outer planets come in handy.

Outer planets

The latest code for the clock is v2.3.0 (2025-02-04) and it can be found as open-source code on github. See the github wiki for a listing of all the 49 faces.

  1. My favorites are the local sun (shown in your post), the Roman numeral and the morse code screens. But really, I like them all! My overall favorite feature of the Multi Face GPS Clock is no internet is required. 73, AA7US
